English IV: Creative Writing

Welcome to English IV Creative Writing!  This is a yearlong course for seniors who wish to engage in creative self-expression through writing.  We will explore classic and contemporary literary works with an appreciation for the work itself, and a focus on the writer's craft.  Such models will form the basis for lessons for our own writing with an emphasis on effective pre-writing techniques, writing for a variety of purposes and audiencs, and developing a personal style. Our units include journaling, memoir, poetry, short story, playwriting, writing for children, and the DCE.

Use this website daily.  It will include our weekly agenda and homework, some important handouts, and additional readings that will be assigned from time to time.
